Fundraising
Regular Donations
In order for St Peter’s and St Elizabeth’s to keep thriving, manage and maintain the buildings and grounds and to continue serving our communities, we need help from our parishioners. We rely on donations not only to keep the two parishes going but also to contribute to the Diocese in order to fund Diocesan services. If you feel able, there are various ways to contribute.
Planned Giving
Envelopes with the dates of every Sunday on them can be used. Just put your donation into the envelope and leave it in one of the donation baskets at the back of the church. If you miss a Sunday, just include your donation in the envelope for the following week.
Standing Order
This is a simple way to make sure that your weekly donations are made on a regular basis. In order for you to set up a Standing Order, please request the account details from Chris Henry.

Gift Aid
If you are a UK taxpayer, at no extra cost to you donations made in envelopes or by Standing Order can be covered with a Gift Aid declaration. Once we have your completed form, we can claim back 25p from HMRC for every £1 you donate. It makes a significant difference to our finances. Further information is available at:
https://www.gov.uk/donating-to-charity/gift-aid
If you would like to donate using envelopes or standing order or if you would like to Gift Aid your donations, please contact Chris Henry at St Peter’s (see above) or Annette Buffery at St Elizabeth’s for further information.
Legacy Donations
Another way to help our parishes is via legacy donations (making provision in your will that directs a chosen amount to be gifted to your parish before the remainder of your estate is distributed to your inheritors). For more details about this type of donation, please contact Chris Henry at St Peter’s or Annette Buffery at St Elizabeth’s.
Donations to Other Charities
We have boxes available for collecting for certain charities as follows.
If you would like one for Missio (formerly the Association for the Propagation of the Faith) (https://missio.org.uk/) please contact Father Chris at St Peter’s or Angela Flowers at St Elizabeth’s.
Major collections are taken twice a year at both parishes for the Catholic Fund for Overseas Development (CAFOD). If you would like to help the cause by becoming a local promoter or contact person, please contact Father Chris.
For Caritas Shrewsbury please contact Pauline Johnson.

In addition, we have occasional collections/fund raisers for “Learning 4 Life – Uganda’s Children” supporting Ugandan Children & Young People to access Education, and Medical Assistance. Please contact Vicky Leach, a member of our parish who co-ordinates our support.
At St Elizabeth’s, fundraising is carried out for various groups throughout the year (eg. Midlands Air Ambulance Charity), with small groups leading and organising events.
