Volunteering

The following sections describe a broad range of activities within St Peter’s and St Elizabeth’s which help us to operate.  These are a great way to support the parishes and, in many cases, to meet and get to know other parishioners.  If you would like to become involved and use your talents in this way, please contact the relevant people below or email St Peter’s on

Ministries at Mass

There are many ways in which parishioners can become involved in the parishes by taking up one of the various ministries, such as Readers, Welcomers, Musicians and Altar servers.  Details of these Ministries and others together with details of contacts at St Peter’s and St Elizabeth’s are provided on this website at Spiritual Life Ministries.

Church Flowers

If you would like to help with arranging the flowers in St Peter’s or St Elizabeth’s throughout the year, you will be very welcome.  If you would like to serve in this way, please contact Alice Rogers-Coltman at St Peter’s or Angela Flowers at St Elizabeth’s.

Buildings/Ground Maintenance

We are often looking for new members at St Peter’s to add to our list of volunteers, particularly our rota for ground maintenance/mowing the grass.  Members are ‘’on duty’’ for a week at a time in the spring, summer and autumn.  The main task is to mow the grass using our sit-on mower.  If you feel able to take this on, full training will be provided.  Please contact Mark Oxley regarding grounds maintenance and Chris Henry regarding buildings maintenance.

Cleaners

We clean the church of St Peter’s fortnightly at a time to suit the individual.  The church is divided into 4 areas so no one has too big a task, no one is called on more than three or four times a year.  If you are interested in helping in this way, please contact Barbara Handy and she will happily add you to the rota.
